At Sacred Spore Company, we recognize the vital importance of making psilocybin therapies accessible and affordable for everyone in need. While we aim to connect with and support various groups, we have chosen to focus our efforts on two communities that hold special significance for our co-founders.
The first community we aim to support is U.S. veterans in Oregon. It’s a familiar story: the U.S. government sends young people into battle, resulting in significant trauma, only for them to return home with minimal mental health care. One of our co-founders and the COO, Robert Brady, served in the U.S. Navy, and all of CEO Matt Freitas's grandparents and his father also served. Our goal is to partner with facilities and facilitators that focus on or offer discounts for veterans. Additionally, we would like to provide our services free of charge to 5 patients facing financial hardships, in accordance with OHA regulations.
The second community we aim to support is hospice workers and patients experiencing anxiety, depression, and fear related to end-of-life situations, particularly those battling cancer. This cause is profoundly personal for the Sacred Spore Company. Having lost both parents to cancer—specifically lung and esophageal cancer—and having witnessed their struggles with the harsh realities of chemotherapy and radiation, as well as end-of-life anxiety, Matt Freitas of the Sacred Spore Company is committed to establishing partnerships with service providers.
Our goal is to provide our services for free for 5 patients in hospice care who are overwhelmed by end-of-life anxiety. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial and psychological burdens of treatment for these patients, who have limited time remaining on Earth.
The performance measures for these goals will be documented, detailing the entities we collaborated with and the total amount of clients serviced for free.
